Master Mechanic

The Master Mechanic is an onsite role based in Hastings, IA. Compensation is $29.40-$30.40 per year, and this position supports the plant operations at Cargill. This role exists to maintain and repair production equipment and facility assets to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. The mechanic contributes to the team's success by performing complex maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues independently.

What you'll do

• Perform complex preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic precision tools to complete maintenance tasks.
• Modify equipment by reviewing electrical or mechanical schematics, blueprints, or manuals.
• Document completed work and equipment conditions using a computerized maintenance system and advise on opportunities for continuous improvement of facility operations.
• Perform job duties in a fast paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
• Support food safety, housekeeping, and safety standards across the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
