The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor role is onsite in Eden Prairie, MN. Compensation is $65,000–$75,000 per year. The counselor supports NorthStar Regional’s co-occurring treatment program, working with mental health, medical, nursing, and recovery colleagues. The counselor provides substance use disorder treatment across assessment, individualized planning, counseling, crisis support, and continuing-care planning. The role contributes to coordinated care for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs and supports their recovery and transitions between services.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary substance use disorder clinician for an assigned caseload
• complete assessments and individualized treatment plans
• provide individual counseling and facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
• deliver interventions for relapse prevention, emotional wellness, and coping skills
• assess and respond to acute concerns within LADC scope
• recognize changes in client presentation and risk
• collaborate with clinical and recovery colleagues
• lead continuing-care and discharge planning
• complete timely clinical documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.

Why this role

Requires a current Minnesota LADC license in good standing, at least three years of substance use disorder treatment experience including individual counseling and group facilitation in a DHS-licensed program, and experience with co-occurring disorders.
