Microsoft 365 Data Security Consultant

Job overview

The Microsoft 365 Data Security Consultant role is onsite Monday through Friday in downtown Houston, TX. Compensation is $45–$50 per hour. The consultant supports data security across Microsoft 365. The role strengthens data protection by reviewing controls, configuring classification and labeling, improving data loss prevention policies, and supporting identity and access security. It contributes to the security and IT teams’ work through policy tuning, alert review, access-control support, and clear documentation.

What you'll do

• Review data protection controls and recommend improvements
• configure sensitivity labels, classification, encryption, and automated labeling
• implement and tune DLP policies for Microsoft 365 applications and employee devices
• review alerts and resolve policy issues
• assist with Entra ID access controls, permissions, and access reviews
• document work and coordinate with security and IT teams.
