Housing Navigator

Compensation is $62,400–$0 per hour. The Housing Navigator role is onsite in Compton, CA; The position is part of St. John’s Homeless Services team, supporting people experiencing homelessness who are enrolled in the organization’s health and supportive services. The navigator helps clients pursue permanent housing by coordinating applications and documentation, advocating for clients, and connecting them with benefits, behavioral health care, housing, and other supports. The work contributes to clients’ access to stable housing through Housing First, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, and motivational-interviewing approaches.

What you'll do

• Work with case managers, patients, and prospective property owners or managers to identify permanent housing opportunities
• assist clients in gathering identification, homeless-history, disability, and other screening documents
• provide client advocacy and case management
• support benefit establishment and linkage to mental health, substance-use, housing, and other services.
