Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is an onsite role in Chesapeake, VA, scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay is $23–$28 per hour. ARS-Rescue Rooter, in partnership with American Residential Services, provides residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. The role supports the accounting department by maintaining financial records and handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and reporting tasks. It also provides clerical support for personnel records, benefits, and payroll problem resolution.

What you'll do

• Maintain accounting records and files, including accounts payable and receivable documentation
• sort and match checks and invoices
• research information and enter credit memos
• verify credit entries and update systems
• perform accounts receivable duties
• conduct basic posting audits
• prepare correspondence to resolve inquiries and discrepancies
• create customer and vendor files
• document personnel changes
• provide employees with information about policies and benefits
• resolve benefit and payroll issues
• assist with month-end reporting and prepare daily and weekly reports.
