Field Operations Technician — Network Construction

The Field Operations Technician — Network Construction role is an onsite field position in Chicago, IL, with a stated pay range of $25–$31 per hour. Zentro provides bulk internet and managed Wi-Fi solutions for apartment communities, high-rises, and mixed-use developments. The technician installs and troubleshoots cabling, wireless radios, racks, switches, and routers to support network construction and reliable service across customer buildings. The role also documents work and site conditions and participates in a one-week-per-month on-call rotation for emergencies.

What you'll do

• Install, terminate, and troubleshoot CAT6 riser and shielded cables
• route cabling through existing riser closets and create pathways between MDF and IDF closets and rooftops
• install roof mounts, wireless radios, server racks, network equipment, switches, and routers
• calibrate wireless radios with team members
• troubleshoot network outages and service-impacting issues
• document completed work, materials, and site conditions
• participate in the on-call team one week per month with 24/7 emergency availability.

Why this role
