Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst role is remote, with the listing based in Columbia, SC; local South Carolina candidates are preferred, and onsite work is preferred over hybrid or fully remote arrangements when possible. What you'll do

• Review and correlate SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence data
• analyze suspicious activity and validate incidents
• determine root cause and impact
• escalate critical incidents to Tier 3 as required
• create incident reports and timelines
• investigate phishing, malware, and potential policy violations
• recommend playbook and workflow updates
• tune detection rules and thresholds
• integrate threat intelligence
• hunt for threats
• document SOC processes and runbooks
• coordinate with engineering, SOC, and agency staff.

Why this role

Requires two or more years of security monitoring and incident response, MITRE ATT&CK framework experience, dashboard creation and reporting, and two years supporting large SOC operations. An associate's degree in IT or information security is required, with four years of relevant work experience accepted instead. CISSP, CISA, CISO, CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
