Patient education and referrals to ophthalmology when needed support comprehensive community care.

What you'll do

• Examine eyes and assess visual acuity, perception, focus, coordination, and ocular health
• document histories and perform relevant tests
• prescribe eyeglasses and other treatment as needed
• interpret clinical data and develop treatment plans
• complete related forms
• educate patients about examinations and findings
• refer to ophthalmology as needed.
