Lifeguard – Southeast Location

The Lifeguard – Southeast Location role is onsite in Bloomington, IN, and staff must be able to work at both Southeast and Northwest locations. Starting pay is $13 per hour. The Monroe County YMCA works to enrich community well-being through programs including swimming, youth activities, and adult health programs. The lifeguard maintains a safe and clean aquatics facility, performs lifeguard duties, and responds to emergencies as a qualified first responder. The role also monitors pool conditions, communicates with staff about coverage and special situations, and attends monthly service training, typically held on a Sunday.

What you'll do

• Maintain a safe and clean pool facility
• respond to emergencies as a qualified first responder
• perform lifeguard duties including chemical checks and policy enforcement
• communicate about shift coverage, pool closures, and special situations
• monitor pool cleanliness and chemical balance
• assist with cleaning
• attend monthly service training.
