The Registered Nurse (RN), Operating Room (OR) role is an onsite, full-time position in Leawood, KS, paying $48 per hour, with an additional $5 per hour for on-call time. The nurse works within the surgical services team at an acute care hospital with a robotic surgery center, breast center, and genitourinary cancer clinic. The role exists to provide safe, patient-centered perioperative care in collaboration with surgeons, surgical technologists, and other providers. The RN evaluates and prepares patients, provides education, monitors patient condition, documents changes, responds to emergencies, and participates in surgical-site verification protocols.

What you'll do

• Evaluate patients before surgery
• educate patients and families about procedures and perioperative care
• prepare patients, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical-site verification
• assess and monitor patient condition
• document changes and respond to emergencies
• participate in briefing, time-out, debriefing, and universal protocols
• collaborate with the surgical services team.
