The Rapid Response Respiratory Therapist – Full-Time Days role is an onsite position in New Orleans, LA. Compensation is not specified. The therapist supports Ochsner Health’s patient care by providing respiratory treatment and ventilation support to inpatients and outpatients, from neonatal through geriatric ages. The role exists to deliver ordered respiratory care and diagnostic services in accordance with established policies and procedures. The therapist sets up, monitors, and weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; performs blood gas and EKG testing; and provides therapeutic procedures and patient education.

What you'll do

• Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support
• set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation
• draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs
• deliver intermittent therapy and assist with artificial airway changes
• document clinical information and educate patients and coworkers.
