Job overview

The Senior RF Front-End Design Engineer role is onsite in South San Francisco, CA. The starting cash range is $160,000–$250,000 per year. The role supports Zipline’s RF team and its autonomous aircraft, ground infrastructure, and logistics platforms; Zipline’s mission is to improve access to food, medicine, and essential goods through drone delivery. The engineer owns RF front-end architecture from system definition through design, integration, validation, certification, production, and field deployment. The work enables reliable simultaneous wireless operation across Zipline platforms and helps establish scalable design, validation, and production-test methods for future autonomous logistics systems.

What you'll do

• Own RF front-end architecture, design, integration, validation, and production for aircraft, ground support infrastructure, and future platforms. Develop multi-radio architectures and define air-to-ground and vehicle-to-vehicle wireless architectures. Evaluate and integrate chip-down wireless solutions and RF components. Translate system requirements into specifications and verification plans
• design RF signal chains and address coexistence, interference, and receiver desense. Perform RF analysis and validation, investigate performance issues, support certification, coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners, and mentor engineers.
