Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is onsite in East Brunswick, NJ, with pay of $20 per hour. The position provides person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The DSP helps participants pursue goals in their Individualized Service Plans by supporting daily living, personal development, health and safety, communication, and community participation while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.

What you'll do

• Deliver services according to each participant’s Individualized Service Plan and preferences
• teach and support independent living skills
• assist with meal planning, cooking, shopping, housekeeping, laundry, organization, and budgeting
• support appointments and routines
• document progress
• facilitate community participation
• follow health, safety, emergency, and behavioral plans
• report concerns
• provide medication reminders or assistance only when authorized and trained.
