The Director of Social Services role is full-time and onsite in Colchester, CT, with day-shift work and full benefits. Pay is negotiable based on experience. Complete Care at Harrington Court provides skilled nursing care to people recently discharged from the hospital, people needing therapy, and people needing long-term care. The director leads the facility’s social services department and supports residents through coordinated psychosocial services. The role contributes to regulatory compliance, quality improvement, resident and family support, and effective admissions and discharges through staff leadership and community relationships.

What you'll do

• Manage, hire, train, and schedule social work staff and interns
• establish departmental policies, procedures, and quality improvement standards
• oversee the department budget and resource allocation
• ensure compliance with federal, state, and local social service requirements
• serve as department contact during health inspections and surveys
• maintain and audit medical charts
• participate in care planning, QAPI, and other meetings
• help resolve complex family grievances and resident crises
• build relationships with hospitals, mental health organizations, and community resources to support admissions and discharges.
