The technologist prepares the operating room, sterile field, equipment, and supplies, then assists the surgical team during procedures and supports post-procedure room turnover. These tasks help maintain safe, organized surgical care and readiness for upcoming procedures.

What you'll do

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instruments
• set up the sterile field, instruments, drapes, and solutions
• follow facility regulations
• prepare the patient’s skin and body
• complete pre-procedure safety checks
• assemble and test equipment
• assist with patient preparation, transport, and positioning as needed
• drape patients
• pass sterile instruments and supplies
• assist with sutures and other supervised functions
• participate in counts
• prepare specimens
• apply dressings
• assist with patient transfer
• clean and restock procedure rooms
• pull supplies
• support preference cards and inventory
• assist with decontamination, sterilization, and quality testing.
