Chief Estimator, Mechanical and Structural Construction

The Chief Estimator, Mechanical and Structural Construction role is onsite in Dallas, TX, with a base salary of $180,000–$210,000 per year plus bonus. The role supports a growing industrial construction and services organization pursuing larger, complex projects. The Chief Estimator leads estimating strategy and reviews, translating drawings, field conditions, project requirements, and risks into reliable cost plans and competitive proposals. By developing the estimating team and improving tools and review practices, the role strengthens project pursuit decisions and the handoff from preconstruction to operations.

What you'll do

• Lead estimating strategy and final estimate reviews from early budgets through detailed proposals
• oversee quantity takeoffs, labor assumptions, material and equipment pricing, subcontractor scopes, indirect costs, and contingencies
• evaluate drawings, specifications, bid requirements, site conditions, and schedules
• partner with operations and project leaders on execution assumptions
• direct bid reviews and recommend pricing, qualifications, exclusions, and pursuit strategy
• mentor the estimating team
• improve cost databases, tools, and review standards
• coordinate supplier and subcontractor pricing
• document estimate bases and compare estimates with actual project performance.
