Electrical Design Engineer III

The Electrical Design Engineer III role is an onsite position based in Fort Worth, TX. Compensation is not specified for this role, which supports the engineering team at Southland Industries, a large MEP company. This role exists to lead, evaluate, design, and engineer projects and systems to specification. It contributes to the team by providing ongoing technical guidance, engineering issue resolution, and mentoring less-experienced engineers.

What you'll do

• Performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems.
• Performs complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
• Develops standards, methods, processes and procedures for reviewing, evaluating and inspecting designs.
• Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and identify the most efficient and acceptable solution.
• Directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers on assigned projects.
• Mentors and provides guidance on designs and technical issues.
• Writes technical narratives in response to RFIs.
