Recovery Coach

The Recovery Coach role is onsite and community-based in New York, NY, with the program listed at Odyssey House Recovery Center in the Bronx. Pay is $20.50–$22.31 per hour. Odyssey House provides individualized services for people and families dealing with substance use and mental health disorders. The coach supports an assigned caseload through recovery guidance, outreach, advocacy, and sober social and support activities. The role helps participants follow wellness plans, connects them with community resources, facilitates peer support, and documents services in compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.

What you'll do

• Provide recovery coaching and support in line with participants’ Wellness Plans
• conduct community outreach
• organize pro-social activities and events
• maintain weekly contact with each participant for at least 30 minutes
• attend monthly Recovery Coach support groups
• help facilitate peer-to-peer recovery groups
• maintain weekly contact logs
• contribute to a community resource book
• assist participants with Wellness Plans
• conduct educational presentations for local service providers, prospective coaches, and prospective participants
• document services.

Why this role

Requires at least six months of community-based recovery, including six consecutive months of abstinence at enrollment; CCAR certification must be obtained within six months of hire. Services are delivered onsite and in the community.
