The Cost Estimating Manager role is onsite in Lewiston, ME, with compensation of $100,000–$150,000 per year. The role leads a multi-site technical estimating team supporting customer quotations and new business at Elmet Technologies, a manufacturer of precision-engineered refractory-metal products. The position exists to turn customer requirements into realistic manufacturing costs and support informed business decisions. It combines team leadership and estimating-process oversight with hands-on analysis of drawings, specifications, materials, labor, tooling, and production requirements.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a multi-site technical estimating team
- manage estimating processes, software, and tools
- prioritize estimates for customer RFQs and Sales
- analyze specifications, blueprints, and drawings
- estimate material, labor, processing, tooling, fixture, and outside-service costs
- collaborate with customers, Engineering, Sales, R&D, Purchasing, and Production
- review and update bills of material and routings
- create part numbers, bills of material, and routings in the ERP system
- improve estimating accuracy and consistency.
