What you'll do

• Investigate violations of state, municipal, and federal laws
• interview suspects, victims, and witnesses
• prepare cases for prosecution and present cases in court
• conduct background investigations
• prepare reports and case records
• process crime scenes and maintain evidence
• examine physical evidence such as fingerprints and footwear
• obtain and execute warrants
• conduct forensic interviews of sexual assault victims
• assist patrol and narcotics divisions as needed
• remain on call 24 hours per day for emergencies.
