Job overview

The Crisis Worker, Mobile Crisis Response, Part-Time Sundays role is onsite in Chicago, IL, serving the Uptown, Lakeview, and North Center communities. Pay is $26.50–$30 per hour. Thresholds’ Mobile Crisis Response Team provides support to people experiencing mental health crises as an alternative to or alongside hospitalization or police response. The worker answers hotline calls, assesses safety, connects callers with services, and may conduct community-based face-to-face interventions with a Peer Engagement Specialist. Follow-up and documentation support continuity of care, while the least restrictive intervention possible guides crisis response. The assigned schedule is Sunday, 2:45 p.m.–11:15 p.m.

What you'll do

  • Answer crisis hotline calls
  • conduct safety assessments
  • connect callers to appropriate services or providers
  • when needed, meet people in the community with a Peer Engagement Specialist and provide the least restrictive intervention possible
  • offer follow-up based on client needs
  • document services
  • participate in community outreach and self-directed projects during downtime.
