Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer role is fully remote, with a stated work schedule of 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. CST and compensation of $35 per hour. The position is a six-month-plus, project-based engagement supporting a large-scale migration of applications and infrastructure to AWS. The engineer assesses migration workloads and security risks, then works with application and cloud engineering teams to address findings and establish reusable controls. The role contributes to secure, standardized, and operationally efficient cloud migration and ongoing security maturity.

What you'll do

• Assess application architecture, security requirements, and migration readiness
• coordinate security requirements and migration activities
• conduct application and infrastructure security assessments
• review access, network controls, vulnerability management, encryption, logging, and monitoring
• identify risks and modernization opportunities
• collaborate on Terraform modules, IAM frameworks, guardrails, monitoring, and policies
• establish remediation ownership and plans
• apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
