This role is with Good Samaritan, a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of service to seniors. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

What you'll do

• Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
• Utilize appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Possess the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
• Demonstrate ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
• Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document resident interactions and outcomes.
• Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
• Counsel residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
• Knowledge of resident education principles.

What we're looking for

Education

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program.

Experience

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program. LPN license required.
