Automotive Instrumentation Technician I

The Automotive Instrumentation Technician I role is onsite in Dearborn, MI, with pay of $24–$26 per hour. The technician installs and services test instrumentation in development vehicles. The role builds and installs wiring harnesses and measurement systems, then checks and troubleshoots them so vehicle instrumentation can support development and testing work. Team members provide mentoring and support on project work and customer interactions.

What you'll do

• Build and install low-voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery, and electrical systems
• install, adjust, and calibrate sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems
• collaborate on sensor locations according to instrumentation requirements
• assist with functional inspection and prove-out
• diagnose and repair wiring faults
• use electronic measurement tools
• record service repair notes
• maintain shop equipment and participate in shop organization and cleanup.
