Compensation is $115,000–$140,000 per year. Tovala is a food-tech company developing connected ovens, software, and fresh food delivery. This engineer designs, tests, ships, and maintains firmware across Tovala’s legacy Electric Imp/Squirrel oven fleet and its growing ESP32 platform. The role owns fixes and features through testing, staged rollout, and production monitoring, while improving automated tests and collaborating across hardware, cloud, manufacturing, and operations.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test, and ship connected-oven firmware
• own bug fixes, features, and performance improvements through lab testing, staged fleet rollout, and production monitoring
• maintain automated firmware test pipelines
• execute bench and fleet-subset test plans
• use AI-assisted development tools
• collaborate with thermal, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, operations, and backend teams
• improve code review, testing, and release practices
• document technical decisions.
