Job overview

The Housing Specialist role is onsite in Greenfield, MA. Pay is $19–$20 per hour. The position supports Gandara’s Young Adult Housing Services program, helping young adults and families experiencing housing instability pursue permanent housing and stability. The specialist works with participants over a 12-month period to develop housing, employment, and education plans, connect them with services, and build skills for independent living. The role coordinates with program staff and community partners to support transitions from unstable housing to lasting housing.

What you'll do

  • Engage referred participants
  • build professional relationships and provide strengths-based feedback
  • connect participants with housing resources
  • support housing and resume histories, income maintenance, and self-care
  • teach skills such as transportation and budgeting
  • provide aftercare outreach
  • coordinate apartment searches, moving assistance, childcare, transportation, and other services
  • conduct housing inspections
  • assist with applications, interviews, and lease signing
  • complete assessments and develop service plans
  • provide in-home case management, advocacy, and safety planning
  • meet with participants two to three times weekly and monitor progress for 12 months.
