What you'll do

• Set up and operate conventional and special-purpose machines to fabricate metallic parts
• interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• select and secure fixtures and cutting tools
• set machining controls
• monitor operations and adjust equipment
• verify settings and dimensions with measuring instruments
• maintain safe operations and perform preventive maintenance. May develop specifications or confer with engineering and production personnel.
