Job overview
The College STEM Literacy Worker role is an onsite, part-time position in the Boston area. Compensation is $17–$20 per hour. The Young People’s Project works to expand STEM learning and teaching opportunities for students historically underrepresented in STEM. The worker develops as a near-peer educator and helps deliver computer science and algebra learning with teachers, supporting students’ problem-solving, communication, and computational-thinking skills.
What you'll do
- Work with YPP and Bootstrap staff to learn and co-facilitate professional development
- collaborate with ninth- and tenth-grade math teachers to deliver Bootstrap Algebra and computational-thinking content
- help build an engaging classroom environment
- support student learning and classroom management
- document student needs, attendance, and other data
- and coordinate lesson plans and feedback with staff.
