Senior Civil Engineering Technician — Grid Solutions

Job overview

The Senior Civil Engineering Technician role is hybrid in Overland Park, KS, with work locations required to be within 50 miles of one of the listed offices. Pay is $53–$58 per hour. The role supports Grid Solutions projects, including substations and overhead transmission lines. This lead technician role develops and maintains civil engineering deliverables for site development, including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities. It also provides technical guidance and training to technicians and helps ensure project outputs meet quality and design standards.

What you'll do

• Create, modify, and maintain site plans, grading designs, utility layouts, drawings, and other project deliverables using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation
• apply civil engineering principles to complex design assignments
• perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation
• coordinate with other design groups
• provide technical guidance, consultation, training, and oversight
• review design inputs and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance
• maintain drawing control and historical project records
• communicate design requirements, progress, and schedules.
