Founding AI Engineer

The Founding AI Engineer role is in person in San Francisco, CA, every day. Base compensation is $160,000–$200,000 per year, plus 0.5–2% equity. The seed-stage company builds multimodal AI agents that check construction blueprints for buildability, safety, and building-code compliance, with a stated mission to help address the housing crisis. The engineer runs end-to-end experiments to improve the accuracy of blueprint-compliance agents, from forming hypotheses and implementing experiments to analyzing results. The role also contributes to evaluation systems and related computer-vision, data, tooling, and web application work as needed, helping advance the product’s technical performance.

What you'll do

• Improve multimodal blueprint-compliance agents
• build autoresearch and improve evaluations
• run experiments and sweeps on designed features
• complete the experiment loop from ideas through implementation and analysis
• develop expertise in relevant building codes
• contribute as needed to computer-vision experiments, data engineering, internal tools, and web application improvements
• participate in weekly user contact and product dogfooding.
