Transmission Line Engineer — Design

The Transmission Line Engineer role may be onsite or hybrid in St. Louis, MO; Collinsville, IL; or Bettendorf, IA, with an annual pay range of $85,000–$115,000. BHMG Engineers provides utility-focused engineering and consulting services to electric companies, municipalities, and organizations with large energy needs. The role supports the Transmission Line Design department. The engineer develops transmission line designs and technical documentation, performs engineering analyses, and coordinates design inputs across disciplines. The work contributes to compliant, constructible project packages and supports client coordination, field validation, and construction needs.

What you'll do

• Develop transmission line designs using PLS-CADD and related tools
• produce drawings, stringing charts, bills of material, and technical documentation
• perform analyses and calculations for NESC, RUS, and client standards
• evaluate routing and spotting
• coordinate survey and real estate inputs
• support permitting
• conduct foundation analysis
• prepare and review assembly configurations and material specifications
• support client meetings, field visits, and construction
• contribute to standards and process improvements
• mentor junior engineers and drafters.
