School Age Before and After Care Teacher

The School Age Before and After Care Teacher role is onsite in Reston, VA. Pay is $18–$20 per hour. Reston Children’s Center’s School Age program provides care for children in kindergarten through sixth grade before and after the standard school day. The teacher plans and leads activities while helping maintain a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 5–12. The role supports children’s physical, psychological, and emotional development and coordinates daily care with families, teachers, and school transportation routines.

What you'll do

• Lead games and activities that support children’s physical, psychological, and emotional development
• help children get to and from buses or bus stops
• provide a safe and nurturing environment
• serve snacks and meals as needed
• assist with USDA meal counts, attendance, and head counts
• participate in field trips
• help plan indoor and outdoor activities
• coordinate coverage with fellow teachers
• substitute in other programs when needed
• communicate with parents and guardians
• follow school policies and state regulations.
