Maritime Security Officer

Job overview

The Maritime Security Officer works onsite in Two Harbors, MN, providing security services at the Duluth Seaway Port Authority. Compensation is $17–$17.50 per hour. The role supports port security through access control, policy enforcement, and inspections. Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the officer helps protect port property and people by monitoring access, conducting patrols and inspections, and following facility security and emergency procedures.

What you'll do

• Conduct foot patrols and escorts
• enforce facility security policies
• verify TWIC requirements and authorization for people and vehicles
• maintain access logs
• direct visitors and vendors
• inspect vehicles, baggage, and containers
• monitor CCTV and alarms
• perform guard desk duties
• follow emergency communications and call-out protocols
• control keys
• participate in drills
• complete paperwork and comply with applicable regulations and procedures.

Why this role

Schedule depends on boat traffic and may include up to two 7:00 AM–7:00 PM days and two 7:00 PM–7:00 AM overnights each week; a day-shift schedule of 7:00 AM–7:00 PM is also sought. Paid training is offered. A TWIC card is required or must be obtained within one month.
