What you'll do

• Manage the medical billing cycle from charge entry through payment and account resolution
• review electronic insurance claims
• verify eligibility and benefits as needed
• post payments
• work denied, rejected, unpaid, and collection accounts
• follow up with insurers
• submit corrected claims and appeals when appropriate
• monitor accounts receivable
• assist with patient billing inquiries
• maintain records
• coordinate with providers and staff on coding and billing issues
• stay current with payer requirements and regulations.

Why this role

Requires 2+ years of medical billing experience. ModMed experience is strongly preferred; dermatology billing experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers is listed.
