The Turning Machinist — First Shift works onsite in Elk River, MN. Pay is $26–$37 per hour. The role supports Metal Craft’s precision machining work for medical, aviation, space, defense, and emerging high-tech industries. The machinist sets up and operates machines to produce turned and other specified features on metal and plastic workpieces. Accurate interpretation of blueprints and routings, tooling adjustments, and quality documentation help ensure parts meet specifications.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate machines for turning, boring, threading, and facing
• read blueprints, job routings, setup sheets, and charts
• load and set tools
• adjust or replace dull or chipped tooling
• set work offsets, tool wear lengths, and cutter compensation
• run multiple machines where cycle time permits
• document quality-control characteristics against blueprint tolerances
• straighten parts according to work instructions
• work Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with Friday overtime.
