The Metal Pattern Maker, First Shift role is onsite in Syracuse, NY. Pay is $39.04 per hour. Core hours are 6 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; relocation assistance is available for ideal candidates. The pattern maker fabricates and finishes patterns, core boxes, and molds used in production. The role combines hand-finishing skills with conventional and CNC machine setup and operation to meet dimensions and tolerances.

What you'll do

• Plan, lay out, and hand-finish rough castings for patterns, core boxes, and permanent molds
• fabricate patterns, core boxes, and molds
• align and fasten split sections
• account for draft, shrinkage, and finish allowances
• set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools and devise custom tooling
• program CNC machinery using SolidWorks and MasterCam
• fit, polish, and scrape parts
• check tolerances, create templates, and identify print errors
• perform total productive maintenance.
