Security Officer

Job overview

The Security Officer role is fully onsite in Buffalo, NY, with pay of $23 per hour and a schedule of 2:00–10:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., 24–32 hours per week. The role supports safety and access control at Wieland, a copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution company. The officer helps protect people and property by monitoring access, patrolling facilities, responding to alarms and incidents, and reporting safety concerns. The role also assists visitors and maintains security and safety records and equipment.

What you'll do

• Observe safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
• report unusual circumstances and investigate incidents as directed
• patrol inside and outside areas on foot or by vehicle
• respond to alarms and radio calls
• conduct searches according to policy
• check entry and exit points and security equipment
• assist and escort visitors
• inspect safety devices
• secure or unlock facilities
• enforce access control
• prepare reports and respond to calls for assistance.
