Companion Caregiver, Dementia and Memory Care

The Companion Caregiver, Dementia and Memory Care role is an onsite, part-time position at Belmont Village Memory Care in San Diego, CA, with flexible weekday hours from 8 AM to 12 PM. Compensation is not specified. The caregiver supports a client living with dementia in a memory care community. The role exists to provide one-on-one companionship and encourage the client’s social engagement and participation in daily activities. The caregiver accompanies the client around the community, supports routines and emotional well-being, and communicates observations to the office and facility staff.

What you'll do

• Provide one-on-one companionship and conversation
• encourage participation in daily activities and social programs
• accompany the client to activities, meals, walks, and other community areas
• offer appropriate engagement, gentle encouragement, and redirection
• support daily routine and emotional well-being
• report observed changes in behavior or condition
• coordinate respectfully with memory care staff.
