The Preconstruction Manager role is remote, open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ preferred. Compensation is $120,000–$140,000 per year, with an approximately 5% base-salary profit-sharing opportunity. The role supports an established construction organization working on large-scale building projects. The manager leads estimating, subcontractor procurement, bid management, and project pricing before construction begins. The work supports accurate budgets, scope coverage, subcontractor selection, and coordinated handoffs across commercial, multifamily, student housing, mixed-use, and modular construction projects.

What you'll do

• Lead estimating and preconstruction across multiple projects valued at approximately $20 million or greater
• develop bid packages and manage solicitations, proposal evaluation, bid leveling, subcontractor selection, and buyout
• prepare conceptual and detailed estimates, budgets, and pricing
• review scope coverage, gaps, exclusions, qualifications, and discrepancies
• estimate civil, sitework, utility, MEP, and other subcontracted scopes
• review drawings and specifications
• lead and mentor estimating team members
• coordinate with design, engineering, construction, operations, business development, and logistics
• participate in kickoff, subcontractor, site-walk, and handoff meetings
• support modular construction planning.
