Senior Security Engineer

The Senior Security Engineer role is onsite in Washington, DC. Compensation is $120,000–$150,000 per year. Halvik provides digital services, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, and technology services to U.S. government agencies; this role supports a federal customer’s Security Operations Center. The engineer strengthens cybersecurity operations through security analysis, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and secure cloud engineering. The role also supports continuous monitoring and federal compliance across on-premises and cloud environments, primarily Microsoft Azure.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain SOC procedures
• assess vulnerabilities and security documentation
• create security evaluation plans and test procedures
• conduct security testing and recommend countermeasures
• assess risks and document mitigations
• support security systems and tools
• analyze and triage SOC alerts
• engineer secure Azure solutions
• implement Zero Trust controls and configure Azure services, including AKS, Azure Policy, landing zones, and role-based access controls.

Why this role

Active Secret clearance required; minimum eight years of cybersecurity experience; bachelor’s degree and CISSP or equivalent certification required. Azure cloud and federal compliance experience are central to the role.
