Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant role is onsite in Ogden, UT. Pay is $60,000–$70,000 annually. Karman Space & Defense develops and produces systems for space and defense programs, supporting prime contractors and government mission priorities. The accountant maintains reliable financial records and supports accurate reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role contributes to timely month-end close, cost analysis, and revenue recognition by reconciling accounts and coordinating with Contracts and Finance teams.

What you'll do

• Perform general accounting and maintain financial records
• create and post journal entries
• clear bank adjusting entries
• complete monthly bank reconciliations and SOX checklists
• reconcile petty cash and verify credit card transactions
• provide accounts payable backup and reconcile RNI accounts
• support vendor remittances and month-end reporting
• investigate general ledger variances
• assist with cost analysis and percentage-of-completion cost validation
• coordinate contract-value verification and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• update job status in the ERP system.
