The Release of Information (ROI) Clerk – Full-Time role is onsite at the Main Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. Compensation is $19.00–$21.85 per hour. The clerk provides administrative support to the Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department at Colorado West Healthcare System. The role processes requests for medical records and other information while protecting patient privacy and following release protocols. Accurate tracking, scanning, and handling of records help patients, providers, clinics, and agencies receive information within required time frames.

What you'll do

• Log, monitor, and complete information requests using the tracking application
• respond to medical-record requests within specified time frames
• process letters and reports
• answer incoming calls
• copy records and documents for billing or legal services
• prepare CDs/DVDs of imaging studies
• maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other applicable standards
• process amended records and scan paperwork into patient charts
• assist walk-in and phone customers with release-of-information needs
• release information according to regulations and protect medical-record security.
