The 5-Axis CNC Setup Machinist — Power Generation and Aerospace Components role is onsite in Kings Mountain, NC. Compensation is $32–$37 per hour. The machinist works in Pioneer Motor Bearing’s PMB Machine Works division, which supports defense and aerospace with precision-machined parts and contributes to power-grid and military readiness. The role exists to set up and operate CNC equipment to produce and repair precision bearings, seals, and aerospace and defense parts. It supports quality and delivery requirements through accurate setups, inspection, program corrections, safe material handling, and process improvements.

What you'll do

• Set up 5-axis CNC machine tools with tooling and offsets
• manufacture and repair fluid-film bearings, seals, and aerospace and defense parts
• interpret technical drawings and route sheets
• plan setups and verify first-article conformity
• use precision measuring equipment to maintain tolerances
• edit G-code and document changes
• identify production issues and collaborate on solutions
• recommend setup and program improvements
• move heavy workpieces using overhead cranes and proper rigging.
