Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse

The Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse role is onsite in Bethesda, MD. Pay is $40 to $55 per hour. District Surgery Center provides pre-operative and post-anesthesia care in a freestanding surgical center. The nurse prepares patients for surgery and provides recovery care, monitoring patient status and responding to clinical changes. Coordination with surgeons, anesthesia, and clinical staff supports safe patient flow, discharge readiness, and compliance with facility standards.

What you'll do

• Complete pre-operative telephone assessments and health questionnaires
• gather required labs, EKGs, and histories and physicals
• provide pre-operative teaching
• coordinate chart review and follow up on orders
• oversee Pre-Op operations, staffing, patient flow, and chart review
• perform PACU assessments and monitor hemodynamic and airway status
• provide nursing care and respond to emergencies
• educate patients and families and provide discharge instructions
• collaborate with anesthesia and surgeons
• maintain documentation, infection control, medication handling, and facility standards.
