The Controller role is hybrid, with travel to York, PA three days a week. Compensation is not specified. The Controller partners with the Vice President of Finance at IB Abel, an electrical contractor planning to double its business over the next five years. The role exists to lead the accounting function, deliver accurate financial reporting, and improve processes as the company grows. It supports business decisions and growth by overseeing close, controls, audits, project accounting, and the accounting team.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop 7–12 direct and indirect reports
• own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• improve accounting processes and automation
• establish accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• manage the annual audit relationship and compliance with audit, tax, and regulatory requirements
• prepare and review financial statements, general ledger activity, and schedules
• oversee job-cost reporting, WIP schedules, cost-to-complete estimates, and revenue recognition
• oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger
• verify fixed-asset capitalization and depreciation
• coordinate non-payroll tax filings and payments
• prepare insurance-renewal financial schedules
• partner with operations leaders.
