Associate / Junior Systems Engineer

The Associate / Junior Systems Engineer role is onsite in Sterling, VA. Compensation is $100,000–$160,000 per year. The role supports a multi-team engineering initiative for mission-critical satellite ground systems, contributing to GRVTY’s national security work. Working with experienced systems and software engineers, the engineer translates operational needs into digital engineering artifacts, interface specifications, and software requirements. The role also supports agile development, system modeling, and verification and validation activities.

What you'll do

• Decompose customer requirements and operational concepts into functional requirements, use cases, diagrams, and interface documentation
• maintain SysML architecture models and traceability
• participate in agile ceremonies and help define acceptance criteria
• document interface protocols, message structures, and schemas
• draft test steps, map test cases to requirements, and support automated verification
• document technical meeting actions and contribute to customer review materials.
