Design Engineer

The Design Engineer role is an onsite position located in Elmsford, NY. This role exists to create 3D models of integrated security systems designs. The Design Engineer contributes to the team by working closely with the BIM Manager and Systems Engineer to manage design submittals, ensure compliance with project specifications, and facilitate coordination through clash detection.

What you'll do

• Create 3D models of integrated security systems design submittals
• Manage and create design submittals including drawings, bill of materials, and calculations
• Maintain submittals during contract changes
• Develop detailed design schematics
• Review 2D and 3D drawings for electronic and electrical products
• Work with project managers, design engineers, and external experts
• Update and modify models as plans change
• Generate 2D drawings and details
• Run clash detection analyses
• Adhere to BIM standards.
