The Therapeutic Mentor is a part-time position in Carastar Health’s Children’s Services program, based in Montgomery, AL. Pay is $12–$18.96 per hour. The role provides services in homes, schools, and other community settings; Carastar Health’s program supports youth and families affected by mental health conditions. The mentor provides structured one-to-one skills support to youth ages 5–12 and their families, helping them work toward treatment-plan goals in daily living, social, and communication skills. The role coordinates with clinicians and the treatment team, monitors progress, and connects families with community resources.

What you'll do

• Build a therapeutic relationship with youth and families
• coach and support skill development
• create and supervise opportunities tied to individualized treatment goals
• teach age-appropriate behavior, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
• link youth to community recreational and social activities
• monitor and document progress
• communicate with clinicians and the treatment team
• participate in treatment planning and meetings
• connect families with providers and resources
• and contribute to discharge planning.

Why this role
