What you'll do

- assess student comprehension and progress
- take responsibility for student mastery and academic growth
- operate the classroom
- plan curriculum and prepare materials for individual needs, abilities, learning levels, and physical limitations
- develop teaching tools and techniques
- establish behavior standards
- counsel with students and parents
- administer assessments, record results, and report progress
- maintain attendance and required records
- plan and lead IEP team meetings
- participate in faculty and professional meetings, conferences, and training
- uphold school rules and policies
- maintain a learning-conducive classroom
- report suspected child abuse or neglect.
