Hot Plant Operator

The Hot Plant Operator role is onsite at job locations throughout central and western Montana, with the listing location in Columbia Falls, MT. Reporting to the Paving Manager, the operator runs the hot plant and supervises the assigned crew. The role supports paving operations by producing and testing materials, maintaining quality and safety, coordinating supplies, and keeping plant equipment operational.

What you'll do

• Operate portable hot plants at job locations
• schedule raw material deliveries and oversee assigned employees
• coordinate pit layout, plant operations, asphalt mix design, and paving crew supply needs
• operate loaders and other heavy equipment safely
• coordinate with asphalt testers and plant inspectors
• train employees
• monitor crew performance
• enforce safety and regulatory requirements
• test and adjust materials
• maintain and repair plant equipment
• submit production reports, update work diaries, and review timecards.
